Delmarva Christian Students Explore Science Through Hands-On Learning

Delmarva Christian's Elementary and Middle School students embarked on an afternoon of hands-on scientific discovery, engaging in interactive experiments that brought learning to life. From physics and chemistry to human anatomy, students explored the wonders of science in dynamic and creative ways.

“Science Day is a great opportunity for our K-8 students to explore scientific concepts through hands-on activities that spark excitement for learning,” Elementary & Middle School Director of Instruction, Jessica Hague. “The interactive experiences encourage curiosity, teamwork, and problem-solving.”

Middle schoolers took on the Egg Drop Challenge, putting their engineering skills to the test as they designed protective structures to keep their eggs intact upon impact—until Coach Dave had some fun putting their designs to the ultimate test! Meanwhile, lower elementary students delved into concepts like buoyancy, created lava lamps in a bottle, and experienced sensory science with snow dough.
Upper elementary students turned their focus to the human body and the five senses, with each group tackling a different sense. Students built skin models to understand touch, experimented with how the eye captures images, conducted a taste test, observed sound waves in sand and water, and identified mystery scents while learning about the olfactory system.

The event fostered curiosity, creativity, and a deeper appreciation for God's creation, reminding students that science is not just about facts—it's about discovery, wonder, and the joy of learning.
The mission of Delmarva Christian School is to proclaim the gospel by preparing students spiritually, academically, and physically to know and do God’s will in their lives. For more information, visit www.delmarvachristian.com.
