Spring Sports Recap

Baseball
Delmarva Christian High School's 2024 baseball season had a mix of strong victories and tough losses. The team started strong against Christiana HS and ASPIRA HS. A series of wins and losses followed, including a walk off win over Polytech HS at the bat of Team Most Outstanding Player Xaiver Efford.  Their season included some high-scoring victories, and multiple narrow defeats.  Despite their effort, the latter part of the season saw more losses, concluding with a loss to Indian River HS in a make-up game. The team's final record showcased their resilience and ability to secure several notable wins despite facing challenges throughout the season.

Key contributors to the team's success were Kasey Bell who finished the season as the School's Athlete of the Year, Kasey secured the middle infield alongside Xavier Efford. Efford finished the season with the highest batting average on the team, most RBIs, and most wins on the mound. Malakai Jones contributed offensively while Mason Bohinksi captained the outfield patrolling centerfield for the Royals. A player the Royals will miss next year alongside Bohinski and Efford was senior, Garrett Rodgers who held the Designated Hitter role this year and served as a vocal and visual leader for the team.

Xavier Efford also was selected to represent Delmarva Christian in the annual Blue Gold Game at Frawley Stadium, playing infield for the Gold team.

Ryley McCluskey secured Most Outstanding Player honors for Soccer this season, after spending the last three years on the high achieving Softball team. Though, the season proved difficult and the team fell to 6-9 on the year with a string of defeats near the end of the season. The Royals say goodbye to Allie Munro who effectively managed her position and posted impressive stat lines all season, Journey Handy who secured over 100 saves this year, Vanessa Pierre-Louise, Josie Parenteau and Mia Elliot as key contributors.

The future is bright for the Royals who fielded a team of 30 players this year, graduating only 7.
