Matt McGinnis, a Salisbury University alum, brings a wealth of athletic experience both in coaching and athletic administration to Delmarva Christian Schools.  
 
After completing his undergraduate degree in Physical Education at Salisbury University, McGinnis went on to earn his master's degree in School Counseling from Wilmington University.  He began his lacrosse coaching career as an assistant lacrosse coach at Salisbury University, where he quickly gained a reputation for his hard work and dedication to his players. 
McGinnis worked his way up the college coaching ranks with prestigious lacrosse programs such as Gettysburg College and Denison University in Ohio, where he earned his first head coaching position in 2006.  McGinnis spent three successful seasons there, leading the team to multiple conference championships and earning numerous accolades for his coaching abilities.  McGinnis compiled a record of 35-13 in three seasons with the "Big Red" which includes three appearances in the NCAA tournament quarterfinals and two North Coast Athletic Conference championships. McGinnis was named the NCAC Coach of the Year in 2008. 

In the fall of 2008, McGinnis was offered the opportunity to become the associate athletic director at Salisbury University. He jumped at the chance to be mentored by Dr. Michael Vienna, an acclaimed Athletic Director in Division III Athletics. Under McGinnis’ leadership, the university's athletic department saw unprecedented growth and success, including multiple conference championships as well as several team and individual NCAA National Championships. 
 
Most recently, McGinnis served as Athletic Director at Worcester Preparatory School in Berlin, MD. Over the course of his career as an athletic director at WPS, McGinnis helped elevate the Mallards athletics to become perennial ESIAC Conference Champions. McGinnis is known for his compassionate approach to sports administration and his commitment to providing student-athletes with a well-rounded sports experience. He has overseen the development of new sports facilities, implemented new varsity sports programs and worked tirelessly to build strong relationships with all supporters of the WPS athletic programs. McGinnis has also spent the last 7 years as the President of the ESIAC Conference, overseeing and implementing ideas that help impact the overall athletic experience for the student-athletes.
 
McGinnis is very excited about joining a faith-based school community where he can learn and share his love of Christ with others.  McGinnis currently lives in Salisbury, MD with his wife Lauren, step-son Kyle and their two chocolate labs.
