Once again, thanks to Science teacher Miss Julie Eckels, her students, and all the volunteers, the DCMC Science Carnival was a HUGE success!! Besides all of the things one would expect to see at a Science Fair including experiments and demonstrations, guests were treated to the makings of a carnival such as a dunking booth, face painting, an inflatable slide, cotton candy, balloons, and animals. There was something for everyone!!
However, for many, the evening’s highlight was the announcement of the Kiss-A-Cow contest “winner.” Much to everyone’s surprise, Mrs. Elizabeth Nunez took the grand prize–but when she wasn’t available–the runner-up, Mr. Mike Hague, stepped up like a champ and placed a smack-a-roo on the one-day-old calf.
Other winners for the evening include Tessa Kwiatkowki (8th grade Robotics–3rd place) and Lewis Burris (8th grade Robotics–1st place). Not pictured: Nathanael Taylor (8th grade Robotics–2nd place).
Winners of the 7th-grade Complex Machines competition for 1st place are Mason Bohinski, Kaleb Cronic, Maddie Ksebe, and Aubrey Spicer; 2nd place are Cullen Parsell, Kassie Zarebicki, Conner Wootten, and David Kristunas; and 3rd place are Xavier Efford, Aiden Brobyn, Chloe Hunt, and Jeremy Vest.
