Hello Delmarva Christian Families!

It is my pleasure to bring you this June School Update.

At the beginning of this school year the faculty and staff of our Early Learning Center, PreK-8th, and 9th-12th programs realized that the 2020-2021 school year was going to be a POWERFUL one… with Christ. Just as both Moses and Joshua experienced the power of God as He parted the Red Sea and Jordan River, we expected that God would continue to be faithful to His people during the COVID challenges.

And, to no surprise, He sure was. Not only were we able to keep our doors open the entire year aside from a few sporadic quarantines, we observed emotional, mental, physical, and most importantly spiritual wellness maintained throughout our student body and employees during a time when many others were still battling hybrid or even total online learning.

In church this past Sunday, I was reminded of the immanence of God. The doctrine of immanence speaks to the fact that God encompasses and is manifested in the material world. Not only does He transcend beyond us, but He is with us, in us, uses us, and can be seen around us. So true this has been throughout the 2020-2021 school year. Parents, the trust you exhibited without being able to even step foot inside our buildings this year exists because of the common ground we stand upon IN the Holy Spirit. Students, what can I say. You have been an AMAZING group with whom to walk through all these protocols. Not only did you willingly accept the necessary changes this year, but you also continued to carry joy and peace. This humility is evidence of your journey in finding your IDENTITY in CHRIST and NOT in fear, pride, or the tensions and issues in our current culture.

And lastly, but certainly far from least, our Teachers, Nurses, Facility Coordinators, Student Services Team, and Leadership Team have served far beyond job descriptions to give of themselves, Sunday through Saturday. Without each of you and your demonstration of “serve wholeheartedly as if you are serving the Lord, not men”, this year simply would not have been possible.

This summer, we are gearing up for an exciting 2021-2022 school year. Our enrollment at both campuses is booming with new students eager to learn more about their strengths and passions and how God plans to use them, new faculty and staff team members are being added who love the Lord and are masters in their profession, and buildings are being cleaned and organized for our first days of school in August.

Our leadership team and Board of Directors are continuing to monitor current and local COVID trends, recommendations for schools from the CDC and Dept of Public Health, and the Governor’s ongoing modifications while seeking Godly wisdom about what protocols, if any, will be needed for next year. In the month of July, I will bring to you another School update.

Until then, enjoy time with Jesus and each other to find relaxation, rejuvenation, and most of all celebration for how He has used Delmarva Christian this past year to bring growth, relationships, and wellness in each of us.
