Delmarva Christian High School

Delmarva Christian High School is strongly committed to partnering with parents and endeavoring to mature young people to be biblically minded, well educated, critical thinkers as they seek to discover God’s will for their lives. By hearing biblical truth in all areas of study, students learn to think with Christian discernment forming their own Christ-centered beliefs and convictions.

Moreover, DCHS students develop the tools for lifelong learning and the spiritual disciplines that will prepare them to excel beyond high school.

Focusing on the motto, A Higher Standard, Delmarva Christian continues to challenge the staff and students to put forth their best efforts toward each other and, more importantly, “unto the Lord.”

Accountability and positive student/teacher relationships are contributing factors to student success at DCHS, and it is understood that the sacrifices made for Christian education demand everyone to strive for excellence spiritually, academically, and physically.

Admissions Process

Step 1: Campus Visit

We encourage interested families to schedule a visit. We can meet with you and give a tour of the school—your student can spend a day shadowing one of our student ambassadors—you can attend our weekly Wednesday morning chapel services—and/or you can attend an open house. Visiting is the best way to absorb both the spiritual and academic atmosphere of our school. Since we operate on a semester block schedule, students may begin their high school career with us at the beginning of, or midway through, the school year; therefore, applications are accepted throughout the year. To make an appointment for a Tour or to spend a day Shadowing a studentclick HERE or call (302) 856-4040.

Step 2: Apply

You are welcome to apply online by clicking here or downloading an application for print by clicking here. Please prayerfully take the time as you fill out the Student Application with your student.

Step 3: Preliminary Review

The DCHS administration will review the completed application and schedule an interview appointment once all items are received.

Step 4: Interviews and Testing

The hour-long interview includes the prospective student(s) and parents/guardians. The interview is a time for us to get to know the families we serve, and provide an opportunity to focus on the school’s programs, philosophy, and expectations. Please understand that since the school interviews all students, flexibility in setting an appointment time is appreciated. For proper course placements, assessments are given to all incoming students with most tests occurring during the New Student Orientation in early June. For interviews taking place after the Orientation, testing may occur immediately following the interview.

Step 5: Final Decision

DCS administrators make decisions concerning enrollment as a team; therefore, the final decision may take several days after the interview ro allow for the administrators to communicate with each other. Providing all information is complete, you can expect to hear from the Enrollment & Events Coordinator by phone concerning the final decision.

In making its decisions, the administrative team will consider such issues as:

  • Is DCHS able to meet the student’s academic, social and physical needs?
  • Are the student’s parents supportive of the school’s Christ-centered philosophy so that a partnership with the school can develop?
  • Is the student under his or her parents’ authority and willing to follow the school’s lifestyle guidelines?
  • Does the student desire to attend DCHS?

Step 6: Acceptance Letter

Within two weeks of the telephone call offering enrollment, an Acceptance Letter will be mailed to confirm enrollment.  Information concerning the New Student Orientation will also be included with the letter. Students accepted after the New Student Orientation will receive a new student packet containing further information and forms that will need to be completed before the student begins school at DCHS.

Delmarva Christian High School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.  DCS does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, financial aid program, athletics and other school-administered programs.
