Why Delmarva Christian? Delmarva Christian offers a community based on Godly characteristics and standards. There is a community that involves local businesses, parents, students, administration and teachers to unite in learning, growing, fellowship, and ultimately having a strong foundation in the Lord.
How did you end up at Delmarva Christian? My family had just gotten off the mission field of Singapore. Due to covid restrictions we were not able to return to Singapore to continue church planting. We trust the Lord to guide us and reveal a new stage in His plans and purpose for our family. It was God's perfect timing as I had an interest in photography, digital design and media, art, and computer applications while DCHS was looking to replace their tech/photography/DDM teacher.
What is your favorite lesson to teach in class? Photography: stop motion animation. I usually assign students to work in groups and create from concept to storyboard to filming to editing to final product of a 5 minute stop motion animation film. The students have to have 12 frames per second (12 photos per second) and edit through iMovie or Adobe Premiere Pro. I love seeing what the groups come up with. DDM: learning Adobe Illustrator together. It can be challenging to learn the functions of the different tools and the various set up for the software but it is fun to see the students discover their hidden talents. Comp Apps: spending time learning about Google Slides and public communication.
