Why Delmarva Christian?

I've always heard great things about Delmarva Schools and I took the opportunity to join the mission they stand for. When we focus on specific fields of science and then connect that biblical integration, we see science differently and how it all establishes God's purpose.

How did you end up at Delmarva Christian?

After my educational journey at Delaware Tech and then at Salisbury University, I took a job as a chemist which I enjoyed and learned so much from. I was so inclined to use this experience for youth and mentorships that it led me to make a transition to being a science teacher for a private Christian school. After some time, I made the transition to Delmarva Christian where I still seek constant opportunities to become a better instructor and challenge others to think critically.

What do you think is unique about DC?

The support Delmarva Christian has from communities and individuals really is a blessing. I hope they continue having the support and that we continue using it to make God-fearing professionals that I know will impact the world.

What is your favorite lesson to teach in class?

With my background as a chemist, laboratory work is definitely my favorite. There is so much to learn from just going out and doing. I try to establish questions, concepts, and methods for my students to comprehend but give them obstacles I know they can overcome if they apply the things taught to them. Part of being a scientist, an overall problem solver, is not being directly given every answer to every scenario. The search is a reward in itself.

Favorite verse or passage?

Matthew 21:22 (AMP)  "And whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." Praying works, and God is still moving, I try to remind myself that every day.
