We are not just coworkers at Delmarva Christian, we are a family. I have never worked in an environment so passionate about lifting each other up and encouraging one another to help our students find their purpose.
How did you end up at Delmarva Christian? (where did you come from, background, education, etc)

I was born and raised in Northern Virginia, I went to George Mason University where I majored in Health & Physical Education. The Lord led my family and I to Delmarva Christian after my youngest daughters had a birth diagnosis of Down Syndrome while living in Germany.  I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.

What do you think is unique about DC?

The Community. We are not just co workers at Delmarva Christian, we are a family. I have never worked in an environment so passionate about lifting each other up and encouraging one another to help our students find their purpose.

What is your favorite lesson to teach in class (project, lesson plan, etc)

My Favorite Lesson to teach is the power of creation beginning with Genesis 2:7 “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life: and man became a living being.” I use this as an  introduction to our Human Body Unit.

I ask students if they have ever thought of God as an artist… We discuss how He had a blank canvas, and out of His own thoughts and imagination, without ideas from someone else, He created the heavens and the earth including the Human Body.
Students are then given a challenge of creating a "graffiti wall" to show God’s amazing, creating powers by using their own drawings or words. I ask  them to ‘wow’ me and leave us all with a sense of just how incredible God’s creation is – the earth, plants, animals, and the human body!

Favorite verse or passage?
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

Fun Fact?
I have an identical twin and lived in Germany for a year.
